To start out the 4th of July festivities, Paul and I participated in the Liberty run, part of the annual festivities. We had to check in between 6:30-7:30 at the Rexburg Nature Park to get our number and our shirts. The race was a 5k through the nature park and municipal golf course. It was a lot of fun and a good experience. We didn’t come in first, but we were definitely NOT last! We ran/jogged without stopping so I think that's pretty good considering we aren’t in great shape. We're working on it and hoping to exercise more! After the Liberty Run we hurried home to get ready for the parade. We all dressed up in our red, white, and blue, of course it's a must. After the parade we went to Charles & Nell’s pool for the 4th of July barbeque. We had fried chicken, strawberry spinach salad, potato salad, pasta salad, fruit, veggies, chips & dip, ice cream, cheesecake, etc., etc. It was delicious. Then we went to the fireworks in Menan with Kricket’s family. It is an excellent firework show, very impressive. The day was a super smash!! The entire weekend was so much fun, spending time with family and playing games and talking. Saturday we played water baseball. We set up a slip and slide at home base, which you had to slide on or no point, then we had little kiddie pools for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd base, and used water soaker balls, goggles, and butterfly nets to play. It was hilarious. We also played a killer game of water balloon toss. Super super fun!
